Read This if You Have Multiple Partners
STD statistics show that there has been a steady rise of such cases not only in the United States but across the globe. The increase of syphilis cases among men and women alike form a huge part of this alarming trend. If it is not Syphilis, then the it is Chlamydia and gonorrhea that contributes a big part in the STD statistics as well.
There may also be a problem as far as STD statistics is concerned. There are chances that the current STD statistics do not have a number of undetected cases because STDs like Chlamydia rarely develop symptoms. Still, the growing numbers are frightening even if at times the numbers are understated.
This does not change the fact that there are a lot of people, and the numbers are growing, who are suffering from chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhea. For instance, ten years ago in the united States, there were more or less a million people documented to be suffering from Chlamydia. That number was obviously higher than the one that was recorded a year ago. At the same time, there were 350000 diagnosed with gonorrhea in 2007. There seems to be more people getting diagnosed with STD year after year.
Those numbers go to show that gonorrhea and chlamydia, by far, are the most wide spread of all STDs. Chlamydia is not hard to diagnose even if the symptoms are not showing. The same is true with gonorrhea. The good news is that when diagnosed early, they can be treated. If these diseases are not cured it can lead to other health issues like in women, PID or pelvic inflammatory disease and possibly infertility in both men and women. In women, these STDs can also lead to health issues like pelvic pain or ectopic pregnancy.
On the other hand, men can contract either gonorrhea or chlamydia but the former rarely affects men. Meanwhile, gonorrhea can lead to very serious complications in men. Not only does this disease put them at risk of infertility but they the infection can make its way to joints and the blood stream. There have been worst cases that end up in fatality.
What is this trying to tell us. This suggests that both women and men should be more aware of STDs than ever. The key to avoiding the spread of STD is awareness and at the same time it also help you know what steps you need to do if you get infected.
As the numbers on the STD statistics rise, so should the peoples need for safety practice. The statistics is basically a reminder that it is better to monogamous as much as possible or avoid having multiple partners. It also helps to learn how to properly use a condom.
Get your self checked if you have someone new in your life. For cases where your partner is having an affair, it is better to get screened. if people help each other become more aware, the STD statistics will stop rising.
